1. How do I choose my artwork?
Look for an artwork that is meaningful to you and your kid. Artwork with more potential are those which have only one element because it stands out more. If your artwork is a composition, try to choose the most relevant element. If you are not sure, send us a picture for a free consultation.
2. Are there any specifications for the artwork?
I love my Kids’ Art accept any flat artwork in any condition that is made on paper. Artwork created with solid objects like macaroni or wads of tissue will not lie flat in our scanner and won’t convert well. Also, fabric paints and some metallic markers will not reproduce well. Light pencil sketches won’t show up, so try to use black permanent markers. Artwork on lined paper will not be accepted. If you want us to scan your artwork, the larger size we accept is 11.5″ x 17″. If your artwork is larger than this, a large Size fee of $12 will apply.
If it is possible, you or your kid can trace the element with a fine point black permanent marker. By doing this the element will look sharper and stand out more (see gallery for examples)
3. Do you make retouches to the artwork?
Yes, we will remove the background unless you request “as is” print, fix any smudges, and enhance colors to create a professional looking piece of art: a Masterpiece!
4. Do I get my original artwork returned?
Yes, if you send your original artwork for us to scan it, you will get your original artwork back with your order.
Yes, you can upload your artwork using our “Order Form”.
Scanned Images: Just be sure to scan your artwork at 300 dpi resolution and save on a .tiff format or .pdf to ensure good quality.
Photos: You can upload a picture of your artwork. When taking a picture of your artwork, we recommend to use natural light, avoid shadows and use the highest resolution from your camera.
We will always review the image you send us to evaluate if it meets the resolution to ensure an excellent quality reproduction.
6. What if I have a special request?
This is what we call Premium Customization. If you want a special background and/or treatment for your artwork or to group in one piece up to 4 artwork please contact us by e-mail or phone and we will be happy to assist you. A fee of $75 will apply for Premium Customization.
7. Do I get a proof of my product?
Yes, after we complete the enhancing of your artwork, we will send you a digital proof via e-mail for your approval.
Your final product colors will be very similar to the original artwork and background you choose, but please keep into consideration that they could be slightly different from the colors you see in your monitor.
Giclée (pronounced zhee-clay) is a term created by a printmaker in 1991 based on the French verb “gicler” which means to squirt or spray a liquid. Giclée has come to mean any high resolution ink-jet print produced on large format printers from a computer generated file. Giclée art reproductions may be printed on canvas or paper. Giclée fine art printing provides a luminosity and brilliance that represents the artist’s original artwork better than any reproduction technique available today. Combined with the finest quality canvas and inks, giclée reproductions rival original artwork in beauty and detail. Giclée art prints have become the print method of choice for professional photographers, artists, publishers of fine art, and museums who demand high quality reproductions. Prominent art museums such as the LA Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), the Guggenheim, Smithsonian Institute, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art have hosted exhibitions featuring giclées. We specialize in museum grade canvas printing and your kids’ artwork can be on it!
